THE VENUE: “I had contacted a total of 20 potential venues, and we chose 8 that we liked and were within our budget. We ended up viewing 4 venues and Orso caught our eye because of how clean and spacious it was which we thought would allow us to bring in our own flare and the fairy lights.”
INSPIRATION: “We wanted to do things our way and not be influenced by other people or weddings around us. To some, it might have felt like it was a mishmash of several different things but the day represented us as a couple. For the colours of the wedding we wanted a warm and cozy vibe in winter so we went with the burnt orange, brown and green colours. We chose very autumn/winter colours that we thought would suit the weather but the weather decided to be 24 degrees!”
WHAT THEY WORE: “Sean’s attire was from Montagio Mens Suits Sydney. He had gotten a suit made there previously and he knew that for his wedding he would be going back. My dress was a Modeca dress from Emerald Bridal. I have the worst FOMO and I’m one of the most indecisive people in the world. I had gone to 5 different stores and tried on almost 50 different dresses before going to Emerald Bridal. All the dresses I had tried on, there were one or two things I liked in the different dresses I tried on. The dress I went with was the first dress that caught my eye in the store and the first one I tried on. I instantly fell in love. I knew it was the one and immediately cancelled my appointment at 2 other stores I had planned to go to later that day.”
FUNNY STORIES: “We had our timeline planned out by Kelly and I ran the plan by Sean numerous times beforehand even the night before on the phone as we stayed in different Airbnbs. However, he messages me while I’m getting my make up done that he’s done with his prep photos and he’s following the photographer in an Uber to my Airbnb. Everyone was frantically trying to get hold of him to stop him from calling an Uber as there was transportation already prepared to bring him over at a later time.”
ADVICE FOR FUTURE COUPLES: “Get a wedding planner. Not just a wedding planner, get Kelly from Thyme and Twine Events because she was amazing. Our day was stress free and everything we wanted it to be and that’s all thanks to Kelly.
Get a photographer that makes you feel comfortable and at ease. They’re people that are with you the whole day, you want to be able to feel comfortable around them. Really grateful to Joel for being amazing leading up to the wedding and on the day. Do what you want, no matter what people say. All the decisions in our wedding were made by us, we didn’t let anyone influence what we wanted which allowed our wedding day to reflect us.”
