From Sunset to Sparkler Show: Epic Celebration at Enzo Hunter Valley

    SIGNATURE FILM

THE PROPOSAL: “It was a normal Saturday where Corey and I would generally do our Saturday house clean, and then see where else the day would take us. Corey suggested we take the dogs out onto the beach for the day, because our youngest dog hadn’t been on the beach before. Prior to heading onto the beach, Corey had to ‘run some errands’ (little did I know, this was to ask my Dad’s permission to marry me). Eventually, we got out onto the beach and enjoyed running up and down the dunes with our two puppies. Before I knew it, tangled up with our fur babies, Corey got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. It was a totally unexpected and incredible moment, that I will cherish forever!”

THE VENUE: “We looked at a few venues beforehand, and Enzo Hunter Valley was one I looked at with my sister 4 years ago for her wedding. But she didn’t go with it, I loved it from that moment. When Corey and I walked through, we were in love with it. However, it wasn’t until we left Enzo and got into the car and Corey said ‘I can see us getting married there’. That’s when I knew, we had to go with it!”

WHAT WE WORE: “Corey and his boys suits were an easy find from MB apparel. They went in with an idea, and came out with what they needed/wanted. Me on the other hand, was not to simple. I swear I tried on a million dresses until I found the one. Which initially when my sisters and Mum first picked it off the rack, I said ‘yuck, I’m not wearing that!’ However, Newcastle Bridal House allowed me to custom make the dress to make it mine! It ended up being absolutely beautiful and I loved it so much!”

FUNNY STORIES: “Maybe just the fact that we built a house, moved house and planned a wedding all within 10 months 😂 somehow we survived…so married should be easy right?
Maybe one funny moment, was when I filled up a bucket of water and quizzed Corey with a bunch of questions regarding the wedding. When he got an answer wrong, I dunked his head into the water. As you can imagine, he was quite drenched by the end of it! I still watch the video to this day for a little laugh.”

FAVOURITE MOMENT: “The day just kept getting better and better! The impromptu rap from our friend Molly, the crazy news report by my siblings and their partners, to the crazy fun on the dance floor! My favourite part would have to be walking down the aisle and seeing Corey (crying might I add – he convinced both of us that he wouldn’t lol). Marrying my best friend and spending the rest of the night by his side was an amazing feeling. Also, giving my bouquet to my Mum, dancing with our parents and of course surprising everyone with our first dance!”

“We just wanted to have the best day of our lives, and a huge party to celebrate our love!”

WHAT THEY WORE: “My wedding dress was from Made With Love Bridal in Sydney. Harshans suit was from the well known Australian brand MJ Bale. He spent 1 day looking for suits and settled on the one. But then spent the next 7 months deliberating on which tie to wear.”

FUNNY STORIES: “A few days prior we were actually quite busy doing a hindu wedding ceremony mainly with Harshans mums circle of friends. It had little input from the two of us, mostly organised by Harshans mum. It turned out to be a classic Hindu Wedding morning of chaos. Everyone arrived at the venue on time (except for Amy who was an hour late), but nobody had remembered to bring the THAALI (which is the equivalent of say the ring in a western wedding). It also doesn’t help that there is auspicious time by which the thaali has to tied or else it’s like 13 years of bad luck for the marriage. Somehow my cousin is delegated the task of going back to get it, with the help of an auntie he had never met. In a city he had never been. And in a Tesla, the likes of which he’d never driven. Also don’t forget the burden of 13 years of bad luck for your cousin and his wife, mate… don’t stuff it up. Miraculously, everyone kept their cool. They found the thaali at home, no problem… UNTIL, my cousin reversed into the retaining wall next to the drivewave of the house, which then proceeded to collapse. The aunty pretended not to see it, and then had the audacity to ask why there was all this dirt laying on the ground. Oh well, at least we have 13 years of good luck to help with the rebuild.”

GLAD THEY DID: “I’m really glad we stayed together the night before the wedding. It was special to wake up together on our wedding morning, and meant we could do some last minute things together like a run-through of our wedding dance & practice putting our wedding rings on ! And it was really fun to have the whole bridal party in one house!

ADVICE FOR FUTURE COUPLES: “Start early. It made the whole process efficient & stress-free. We locked in a venue about 1.5 years out, booked the other big stuff shortly after (photographer/videographer, band, accommodation, hair makeup and cake). Then took a break and sorted the stationary and other details in the last few months. I think it helps to decide what is important to you as a couple, then everything else falls into place around that. For us, our main focus was for everyone to enjoy the day & have a big party together. Music is important to Harshan, and my favourite part of weddings is the dancefloor. So we splurged on the band, who really made the night!”

  • Fantasy Wedding at Lauriston House, A Magical Day

Fantasy Wedding at Lauriston House, A Magical Day

This beautifully themed wedding mixed elements of fantasy, feathers, gaming, cars and some musical brilliance in a day long epic at Lauriston House

THE PROPOSAL: “I took Lily out for a day in Sydney City. We begun at a video game arcade, went to an irish pub for lunch (Lily has irish heritage) went to an art museum and then went to the Royal Botanical Gardens, where I popped the question. I had my brother setup a picnic spot with champagne and wait hidden nearby in the bush with a camera to capture the moment. We wandered around the gardens and took some photographs, before going to the top of Centre Point tower for a romantic dinner as the sunset.”

FUNNY STORIES: “When discussing what kind of music we would like our Live band to play at the reception, our friend the leader told to simply send him a playlist of 10 songs we absolutely did not like, and 10 songs we did. This exercise of sifting though the likes and dislikes of our tastes in music revealed a sense of agreement as we discovered we shared similar thoughts. However, finding the songs we absolutely did not had us howling at the thought of them being in a wedding. We laughed lots and lots and attempted to sway the other when we clashed on some songs. All in all, it was like a fun game which we laugh still today.”

THE INSPIRATION: “Our wedding theme was a pastiche of our favourite things inspired by Lily’s creativity. She put forward three words “Classical. Celtic. Elvish” which described the highly elegant aesthetics of the elvish kingdom from Lord of the Rings (LOTR). We both loved films such as LOTR, and video games such as The Legend of Zelda. These were key themes in our Wedding shown in the music, the dress, and groom attire. However, one thing in particular became an unspoken theme which tied everything so beautifully. That was the theme of birds and feathers. We both love birds and it felt natural to have chosen the design of invites, bouquets, boutonnieres and cake to go with our fantasy inspired wedding themes.”

THE VENUE: “We looked at many venues together, only a few with just one of us while the other was at work. The number of venues we saw were around 6 in person, 4 online. What was important to us was finding a location that suited our vision of aesthetic and number of guests. We both agreed that some venues had nice receptions but not as nice ceremony spots. We were open to hav[ing] two locations that were near each other, and thats how we settled on Barker College Chapel and Lauriston House Function Centre as they exuded the elegance and facilities we were hoping for. Barker College Chapel had special sentiment as Jonathan’s former high-school.”

DIY: “Yes, Jonathan’s car, the black MR2 was completely repainted and refurbished before the wedding. This involved a complete strip back, taking the car back completely, and then about a month of painting the various pieces, repairing rust and fixing various things on the 33 year old car then slowly putting it back together. It was a considerable effort.”

“The designing of the Menus and Ceremony pamphlets were made by Lily herself. Making sure all the details were there in perfect arrangement and decorated with the right image took incredible focus and countless of test prints.”

“Lily’s veil wings were altered by a dear friend and seamstress. She had sewn extra lace from the bridal dress onto the edges of the wings to emphasise a romantic heart-like shape.”

“Lily’s bouquet was originally completely ivory. It was her creativity to carefully add light blue feathers into the bouquet as they are her favourite colour.”

“The cake feather decorations were also make by Lily and her Maid of Honour. Meticulously gluing feathers, jewels, pearls and butterflies made for a beautiful cake decor.”

“Lily also spent three weeks working multiple hours to write a 5 minute composition for the Signing of the Register. She wrote it specifically for each of the live musicians who would be playing for the Processional (Helaine Liew – Piano, Hana Tan – Violin, Francis Yoon – Violoncello, Dr Greg Cunningham – Organ).”

  • Sophie & Jobe, Delightful Beach Wedding on the Mid North Coast

Sophie & Jobe, Delightful Beach Wedding on the Mid North Coast

Sophie and Jobe’s wedding at Scotts Head Surf Life Saving Club was more than just a celebration—it was a heartfelt return to a place woven into their love story. With its golden beaches, rolling waves, and laid-back charm, Scotts Head has long been a special escape for the couple, from childhood camping trips to romantic coastal getaways. Inspired by their love for the ocean and relaxed beach vibes, they created a day that was equal parts chilled, colourful, and deeply personal—complete with pops of green (their favourite colour), custom-fitted suits from Institchu, and a dream gown by MWL Bridal that Sophie knew was the one the moment she tried it on. From pre-wedding chaos with their mates to a magical moment soaking in the love at dinner, this coastal wedding was unforgettable in every way.

    Earlier seen here

THE VENUE: “Scott’s head was a place Jobes family took him camping while growing up. Jobe then took me here on our first camping trip, it is always beautiful, sunny and relaxing, and since we have always stopped in to camp when traveling up the coast. This is now a very special place for us and many family members”

INSPIRATION: “We just love the beach! Jobe loves the surf and it is our go to. We wanted something with chill vibes and this suited us perfectly. We added a bit of green as this is both our favourite colours and this worked well too”

THE DRESS: “I found my dress on instagram and thought I’d better try it on not thinking it would suit me very well. It was the first dress I tried on and fell in love instantly. I then tried on another 4 and knew that ‘Valley’ by MWL bridal was my dress! Bought it that day! Then went on to cancel my next bridal shop appointment. Jobe’s suits were from Institchu, all the boys went together to get their sizes. Very impressed by the girls there who could help with all the little decisions along the way. Great pricing especially for custom fitting.”

FUNNY STORIES: “Just so much chaos, we are the first couple in our group of mates to get married so none of our friends had any idea what to expect
Went camping the week before with them all and accidentally had a wild night Thursday night which led us to be a bit hungover Friday while setting up the reception”

FAVOURITE MOMENT: “Sitting down at reception for dinner and Jobe and I taking a moment to soak in all our friends and family who were present on our day – this is something that is incredibly rare and realising they were here purely to celebrate us”

  • Molly & Liam, An Unforgettable, Epic Sunset Over the Kangaroo Valley

Molly & Liam, An Unforgettable, Epic Sunset Over the Kangaroo Valley

It’s been a long while since I’ve been to the Kangaroo Valley and Molly & Liam ensured it was an epic return

THE VENUE: “When we found the bush retreat we instantly fell in love with the scenery! The combination of the bush surrounds, escarpment overlooking the river, the rock cathedral ceremony space, the cocktail deck and the reception hall just called to us! Combining the rustic elements with a slice of nature! However the tipping point for us was the accommodation onsite meaning our people could embrace every single chapter of our wedding with us! Celebrating our love of each other, our family, our friends and the life we are building!”

FUNNY STORIES: “Liam was given a small list of tasks to do to assist in the planning of our wedding! One of which was to research and book a DJ for the wedding reception entertainment! Kangaroo valley is in a funny spot for this so I assumed he’d find a Canberra or Sydney based musician however once booked and I was filling in forms for the venue I soon realised that Infact Liam had booked a DJ based over 9 hours away from the venue… he was in fact from Melbourne”

THE DRESS: “I also bought my dress on the first day of looking! First shop, maybe like 4th or 5th dress! I hadn’t really planned to wedding dress shop but the shop was having a sale so I thought I’d suss it out to figure out what style I was thinking! Then maybe a day or 2 before I thought I probably should invite a friend just incase I fell inlove with a dress! Well thank goodness I did! Kaela came with me, it was very relaxed we each picked a dress or two for me to try on and then the lady handed me this dress off the shelf and said ignore what it looks like on a coat hanger and trust me! Well once I had it on I knew! I ordered it that day and they made it to measurements! Picked it up a few months later and then went for alterations! Honestly the whole experience was so simple and easy I had a freak out that it shouldn’t have been so simple!”

FAVOURITE MOMENTS: Liam – “turning around to see you walking down the aisle at me! There was a mix of emotions and anxiety leading up to that moment and as soon as I turned around it was like I had tunnel vision, everything I felt and could see before wasn’t there! You were all I could see and wanted to see! I felt whole!” Molly – “When we were waiting to walk down the aisle and Kaela had left all I wanted to do was run down the aisle and see Liam! I remember rounding the first corner and saying to my dad “don’t you let me fall, I won’t know what my feet are doing”! When we rounded the next bend all I wanted was Liam, I knew there were so many eyes on me but I did not care I just wanted to hug him, hold his hand and tell him I love him!”

GLAD YOU DID: “Inclusive of family was a huge thing for us! This was a celebration of our lives up until now and the life we are building and including our family was hugely important to us! From first looks to the celebrants inclusivity and the speeches we both feel it celebrated our families joining”

Enchanting Country Wedding, Elaine & Ivan at the Stunning Waldara Farm

A rustic, enchanting wedding at Waldara Farm, filled with lots of legal in-jokes and a sprinkling of Taylor Swift

THE PROPOSAL: “I had moved away to Canberra for a couple of years and we were in a long-distance relationship for that period of time. I eventually moved back to Sydney and Ivan proposed the following week. On the day of the proposal, I had just returned from another work trip in Canberra. Ivan had prepared a whole day trip around Sydney to significant locations in our relationship timeline and at each one handed me a post card and poem until the final one where he pulled out a ring.”

THE VENUE: “I wanted an outdoor ceremony in a beautiful garden and we wanted it to be a little further away from Sydney. We only saw two venues, and it didn’t need to see anymore- Waldara Farm was stunning and everything we wanted – it had several locations for an outdoor ceremony, an indoor barn for the dinner and onsite accommodation for the bridal party. We also did not need to leave the site for any photoshoots, there is a small creek and jetty on the venue which made a stunning backdrop.”

INSPIRATION: “The vibe we wanted to bring was fun, joyful and full of love. We wanted it to be centered on the guests’ experience. It was important to us for there to be good food, live music, a photobooth, puzzles and games that could be played and great energy throughout the day. We were careful with our guest selection and kept the guest list under 100 so we could also speak to each guest.”

FAVOURITE DETAIL: “We are both lawyers and there were so many lawyer-jokes throughout the day – from the invitations to the vows, the announcements, the puzzles to every speech in the dinner reception. It was incredibly cheesy and all of our loved ones who gave a speech also embraced the jokes. We also wrote personal messages to each of our guests behind their placecards at the dinner. This took a long time, but we felt like this was the way to have a quiet and private moment with each of our guests, including our vendors. We were also very touched to find out that at the end of the night, all of the placecards were taken home by the guests and not left behind to be discarded.”

FAVOURITE MOMENTS: “There are too many to name, but a few stand out- (1) walking down the aisle and finally getting to see my guests who were all beaming and giving me strength with their smiles. (2) We both really enjoyed our vows. We kept them as a surprise to each other. We both sprinkled lawyer jokes in there (unbeknownst to each other), and could not wait to share them with each other. (3) Our first dance- this was both something that was a moment for ourselves and something that we wanted to share with our guests. We had been learning and practicing for weeks and it was a fun surprise to our guests. By this stage, the moves came almost without thinking and we had so much fun performing it. We looked mostly at each other, but occasionally caught glimpses of our guests’ faces smiling, laughing and cheering us on. (4) The dance by the bride, bridesmaids and friends- this cheeky dance immediately followed our very sweet first dance and it was another surprise to our guests. We kept the energy high with this one as we brought in the attitude and the guests cheered us on.”

  • Enzo Hunter Valley Wedding Spectacular: A Dream Celebration

Enzo Hunter Valley Wedding Spectacular: A Dream Celebration

Hunter Valley wedding are always epic and this one was no different, a brilliant day at Enzo Hunter Valley this time with Isabella & James

THE PROPOSAL: “James had organised a weekend away for our 5 year anniversary. On the Friday he had booked in a wine tour to several wineries and we had a driver for the day. However, in the background he had organised the proposal with the driver to be done at the first winery. After some liquid courage, James suggested we went for a walk around the grounds and then proposed”.

THE VENUE: “For years we always knew we would get married up in the Hunter. We had met up there at a festival back in 2018 (hot dub wine machine). Bella had shortlisted a few but Enzo’s was always the one she was keen on. It ended up the only venue we checked out in detail! It was love at first sight!!”

FAVOURITE DETAIL: “The sax!!!! He was awesome. But in honestly, it’s way too hard to pick a specific moment or detail. All vendors and stakeholders involved absolutely killed it and made the day SO SO special. From the beautiful flowers, to the awesome drone action (and photos taken), to the amazing cake, to the great music which created the most amazing ambiance to the neon happily ever after and LOVE glows sign. Everything was 100/10. The sunset just topped it off as well

FAVOURITE MOMENT: This is a hard one!! The aisle was hard to top, but entering the reception to the biggest warm welcoming from our friends and family was fantastic. Also our first dance – it was a relief to see all our practice come to fruition. When love story played on the dance floor, it only felt like James & I were the only ones there caught up in our love bubble.”

FUNNY STORY: “The best man’s haircut!! On the morning off the boys heading off to Cessnock to get their hair styled from a barber. Due to a language barrier, instead of shaving his beard, the barber shaved the side of his head. Thank god James did not go first”
