Hello! I’m Joel

I stumbled into wedding photography about 10 years ago, after dabbling a bit in family and travel photography. There’s just something magical about the emotions, the excitement, and the sheer beauty of two people celebrating their love surrounded by family and friends—nothing beats it!

My first wedding was a fun adventure; my cousin needed someone to photograph their special day in the beautiful Blue Mountains, so I grabbed my little camera and jumped in. Fast forward 10 years, and I still feel a wave of emotion whenever the bride walks down the aisle and the groom sees her for the first time.

You might even catch me tearing up during the speeches! Photography is a true passion for me, and I’ve poured my heart and soul into it. I’ve traveled all across Australia and met some incredible people along the way. But the best part? It’s hearing all the lovely messages and seeing the joy on my clients’ faces. That’s what truly motivates me!

When I’m not behind the camera, you can find me spending quality time with my amazing soulmate, Annie, and our two wonderful kids, Ava (yes, named after this place!) and Jacob. I’m all about keeping fit—I’ll take any excuse to work out—plus I love shooting some hoops every now and then. After all, a healthy mind thrives in a healthy body, right?

Joel is incredible and his photos are stunning. There is literally not a photo we don’t like. He captured all photos and special moments from our engagement shoot and the wedding day with such care. He went the extra mile by arriving early, using multiple cameras and devices, photoshopping out flies (outdoor rural wedding) and exit signs, also turning around the finished product in record time! We also loved how relaxed he made all of us feel, particularly our friends and family who are camera shy.

Joel was our wedding photographer and he was truly amazing. I asked him because i loved the creativity and beauty of all his shots that i’ve seen online, and he really didn’t disappoint. He arrived early on the day of the wedding and stayed back a bit as well to make sure we were happy that everything was captured. He also made us feel so relaxed and comfortable around him which we really appreciated because we were already nervous and stressed about the day not going to plan. And a lot of things didn’t go to plan, but Joel was still able to work around it and always found a way to see and capture the beauty of those little imperfections. He may not text you back a second after you send him something, but trust me, he’s got you covered 1000%.

Joel is an incredible, fantastic and talented photographer & videographer.
From the first time we spoke, he was so easy to talk to and once the big day came around, he made us feel so comfortable while we got all of our photos.
The encouragement and passion Joel put out when doing our videography was amazing.
(Also side shout out to Ben Howland Photography whom Joel partnered with on the day, he was incredible too and I will leave him a review as well).
They captured our day beautifully and perfectly. We couldn’t be any happier with our photos & videos – they are faultless. They’re all just so stunning and gorgeously edited.
Paying for photos & videos is a price that I personally think is worth every single cent. So great to be able to look back and relive our special day whenever we want.
